which is said to be able to serve the Jakarta-Bandung route in only 1.5 hours.
KDM said this agreement was contained in cooperation on railway optimization which also included the provision of special agricultural logistics carriages to reduce food distribution costs.
“The Pajajaran Express Train will cut the relatively fast travel time, Gambir-Bandung, to around one and a half hours. In fact, this service is planned to connect to Garut, Tasikmalaya and Banjar with a travel time of around two hours via Bandung,” said KDM in a statement in Bandung, Wednesday (26/11).

When this project is completed, Kilat Pajajaran will be the fastest Jakarta-Bandung train after Whoosh.Whoosh serves the Jakarta-Bandung route 46 minutes.
Meanwhile, the travel time for regular trains from Jakarta to Bandung currently varies, around 2.5 to three hours, depending on the type of train.
Kilat Pajajaran will be built using the West Java APBD.The study will begin next year.
The plan is for construction to be carried out in 2027-2030 with a total budget of IDR 8 trillion.West Java will disburse IDR 2 trillion per year.
Separately, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said Kilat Pajajaran would not compete with the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train aka Whoosh.
Airlangga commented on the comparison of travel times for the two twin routes.According to him, the time difference between the Pajajaran Express Train and Whoosh is not too close.
“No (the Pajajaran Express train competes with Whoosh). There’s not a slight difference (travel time),” said Airlangga briefly when met at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Central Jakarta, Friday (28/11).
