, according to Malaysian sports expert, Nasnoor Juzaily Mohd Nasiruddin, the one year ban will make it difficult for players to return to their best performance.
This senior lecturer at the Faculty of Sports and Training at the University of Malaysia also believes that the seven naturalized players can say ‘goodbye’ to the Malaysian national team.
“I am sure that the seven players can forget about their desire to play at international level, because being banned from competing for 12 months is quite a long period,” said Nasnoor.
“They cannot actively play football during the period of the ban. Even though they can practice alone, it is not the same as practicing with a team,” added Nasnoor.
Seeing this situation, Nasnoor is quite sure that this naturalized player’s future with Malaysia is over.
“Most importantly, playing minutes will be lost and that will have a big impact on their fitness. I see their future in the national team is gone,” said Nasnoor.
“However, playing at club level is possible, but it takes time to recover fitness and touch.”
