Medan District Court, Khamozaro Waruwu, was named as the mastermind
burning
the house belonged to his former boss.The perpetrator named Fahrul Aziz Siregar also stole more than 200 grams of jewelry belonging to the judge’s wife.
Medan Police Chief Commissioner Calvijn Simanjuntak explained that after successfully entering the victim’s house, Fahrul went straight to Khamozaro’s wife’s wardrobe.

“There was jewelry belonging to the victim’s wife. The suspect managed to take the jewelry. Then he put the stolen jewelry in his shoulder bag,” said Calvijn at a press conference at the Medan Police Headquarters, Friday (21/11).
After stealing the jewelry, Fahrul poured the pertalite he was carrying at a number of points in the house.He started burning the door of the hanging clothes, then the other side of the cupboard, under the drawers, up to the spring bed.
“After that, the suspect took a tissue, burned the clothes hanging on the door first, then burned the clothes next to it, burned the third under the drawer, and burned the fourth on the spring bed. The remaining bottle of pertalite was thrown under the bed,” he continued.
From the arrest, the police confiscated evidence of jewelry weighing 209.78 grams.Apart from that, the authorities also confiscated IDR 204 million in cash which is thought to have come from the sale of stolen gold.
“So far only jewelry has been stolen. The only drawer that was opened was the jewelry holder, while the safe was not opened because it only took 15 minutes for the suspect to set fire to the house,” said Calvijn.
Apart from Fahrul as the main perpetrator, the police also arrested three other suspects.Oloan Hamonangan Simamora is known to have known about the crime plan and participated in receiving the proceeds of the theft.
“Suspect Hariman Sitanggang helped Aziz sell gold jewelry and received the proceeds from the sale. Meanwhile, suspect Medy Mehamat, owner of Toko Mas Barus, played a role in buying jewelry resulting from crime or as a collector,” he explained.
It is known that judge Khamozaro Waruwu’s private house in the Taman Harapan Indah Complex, Jalan Pasar II, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, caught fire on Tuesday (4/11) at around 10.41 WIB.
At the time of the incident, the house was empty.The fire burned the bedroom, kitchen and part of the living room.
