will be buried at Jeruk Purut TPU, South Jakarta this morning, Thursday (4/12).The funeral was carried out after Epy Kusnandar died at the age of 61 on Wednesday (3/12).
“Buried at Jeruk Purut TPU. December 4 2025, 08.00 WIB,” wrote Karina Ranau as Epy’s wife via the Instagram caption of her upload on Wednesday (3/12).

The family only opened their voices further regarding Epy Kusnandar’s condition that evening at the funeral home.Damar Rizal Marzuki, as his son, revealed that his father breathed his last breath when he was 61 years old at the PON Hospital in Jakarta.
The actor died at around 14.24 WIB and it is said that everything happened so quickly.The incident started at dawn and the family received news that Epy Kusnandar was in critical condition at around 5.30 WIB.
“The chronology is very fast according to the doctor. Because the disease is related to the most vital organ, the human brain. Just like the heart,” said Damar Rizal Marzuki as reported

The family immediately rushed to the hospital and when they got there the Preman Pensiun star was said to be worried.Families are even asked to prepare or wait for a miracle.
Epy Kusnandar is said to be critical due to the failure of vital organs to function due to a blockage in the blood vessels in the brain stem.
“Heart disease, brain disease, it can happen suddenly. It can happen in a matter of seconds, not even days or months. That’s when we start waiting for a miracle,” said Damar Rizal Marzuki.
“Blocked blood vessels in the brain stem. They say it’s only this size. They say the brain stem is only this size. There’s only one thing that’s blocked but that’s the control center for life. Movement, breathing,” said Deniar Hendarsah as Epy Kusnandar’s younger brother.
The hospital is said to have made maximum efforts, including oxygen aids and medicines to raise consciousness.
However, Epy Kusnandar’s condition actually got worse when his blood pressure started to drop.
“Finally, after holding on for a few hours, a few minutes, until one day the room was filled with family and relatives, continuing to encourage them,” explained Deniar.
“Yes, finally at 14.24 WIB it was stated that the heartbeat had stopped and breathing… had passed away,” he explained.
In 2010, Epy Kusnandar was diagnosed with a dangerous brain tumor which he said only had four months to live.It started when Epy Kusnandar vomited until he became unconscious and decided to have a CT scan.
Even though the doctor recommended surgery, Epy and Karina chose alternative treatment by consuming herbal medicine.Epy Kusnandar then managed to get through the critical period and returned to work more than 10 years later.
Epy Kusnandar started his artistic career in theater and starred in many soap operas and feature films.He married Karina Ranau in 2008.
