Head of the West Sumatra Province Education Service, Habibul Fuadi, said that his party had instructed a number of things to the Branch Head of the Region I-VIII Education Service.
First, branch heads were asked to immediately coordinate and instruct all heads of SMA, SMK and SLB education units in the affected areas to review and adjust the schedule for the odd semester exams for the 2025/2026 school year.
Second, schedule adjustments must take into account security, the physical condition of school infrastructure, and especially the psychological condition and learning readiness of students and teachers.
In addition, branch heads are asked to collect accurate and detailed data regarding the impact of disasters on the education sector in their work areas, including data on facilities and infrastructure, teachers, education staff and affected students.
“The West Sumatra Education Service hopes that a data report on the impact of this disaster will be received no later than today, Monday (1/12),” said Muhari.
This policy follows up on the determination of disaster emergency response status determined by the West Sumatra Provincial Government as per the Decree of the Governor of West Sumatra, from 25 November to 8 December 2025, as well as considering circular letters regarding adjustments to learning activities in education units.
Students in the affected areas are on holiday until December 3 2025 as stipulated in the circular.
