According to the council, the attacks sparked fires in a number of shops and caused extensive material damage. However, they did not reveal the party who launched the attack.
Until now, there has been no official response from the Sudanese military or RSF regarding the incident.
The attack in North Darfur comes amid increasing fighting in other parts of Sudan.
The attack comes as fighting escalates in other parts of the country. This led to aid workers being evacuated on Sunday from Kadugli, a besieged and famine-stricken city in the south.
In South Kordofan State, the security situation worsened in Kadugli City, the state capital.
A source from a humanitarian organization operating in Kadugli said all aid workers had been evacuated on Sunday due to deteriorating security conditions.
The evacuation was carried out after the United Nations (UN) decided to move its logistics center from the city.
Kadugli and the surrounding city of Dilling have been under siege by paramilitary forces since the conflict broke out in April 2023. Last week, a drone strike in Kadugli reportedly killed eight people as they tried to flee the military-held city.
Since April 2023, the armed conflict between the Sudanese military and the RSF has killed tens of thousands of people, forced nearly 12 million people to flee, and triggered the world’s largest refugee and famine crisis.
Last month, the UN declared famine conditions in Kadugli.Communication disruptions in the area worsened the situation, while residents were reportedly forced to search for food in the surrounding forests.
This conflict split Sudan. The military controls the north, east and central regions, while the RSF controls all state capitals in Darfur as well as parts of the south along with its allies.
