diploma

According to him, based on PKPU Number 17 of 2023, the diploma is not included in the archive retention schedule.He also asked for an explanation from ANRI and the KPU regarding this matter.
“But try to compare it with Law Number 43 of 2009 concerning Archives. So, I ask for an explanation from ANRI and the KPU. Are diplomas actually included as objects to be archived or not?”said Khozin in the Hearing Meeting at Commission II, Monday (24/11).

“There aren’t many presidential candidate diplomas. Every five years, only three or four at most. Isn’t that part of the treasures that we have to archive in the National Archives, referring to the Archives Law?”he added.
Khozin said that as a partner of ANRI and the KPU, Commission II was not comfortable with the narrative circulating in the public regarding the diploma.
“This one says it’s fake, this one says it’s genuine, this one says it was destroyed, then suddenly they say it wasn’t destroyed. What is it actually like?”he said.
Khozin emphasized that he did not want to get into the issue of the substance of the original diploma or not.He just wanted to get an explanation whether the diploma was included in the archived documents.
“Please do this live, sir, convey to the public what the issue of archiving this diploma is like. I don’t want to get into the substance of whether the diploma is genuine or not, I’m not interested in discussing that, but it relates to what kind of authority it has,” he said.
“The KPU is the same, don’t change your statement when you give it. What initially said it was destroyed, suddenly corrected it to say it wasn’t destroyed,” he added.
Answers from ANRI and KPU
ANRI head Mego Pinandito said a copy of a president’s diploma must be owned by the KPU.However, the original diploma remains with the person concerned.
“Therefore, there must be a copy at the KPU, so if it comes from there, the question of authenticity still rests with the person concerned, so what is at the KPU may be a copy or photocopy that has been legalized, so it is no longer an authentic archive,” said Mego.
He said there were rules at ANRI regarding whether a document had to be submitted for storage at ANRI.
“Then if it is pursued again, shouldn’t it be included in the archive that must be submitted to ANRI? There is another rule that the archive will be submitted to ANRI if it has been classified as static or something that has extraordinary useful value so that it becomes an archive that must be kept,” said Mego.
Meanwhile, KPU Chairman M Afifuddin said that based on KPU regulations, there are several documents that are included in the archive retention schedule.
“Among the documents in the attachment are documents that are requirements for candidate pairs, such as statement letters from candidate pairs, campaign team composition, proof of account numbers, vision texts, certificates, curriculum vitae of presidential and vice presidential candidates, receipts for these files that are entered in the JRA, archive retention schedules,” he said.
He explained that the KPU had archives of Jokowi’s diploma documents which were questioned at the Central Information Commission hearing some time ago.
The files that were destroyed, he said, were only the Surakarta KPU agenda books.
“Especially for the diplomas in the areas that were questioned yesterday, in fact the parties who requested them have been given them, including in Jakarta, at the center they have also been given them. According to friends, the documents are there, only agendas, the agenda book that was yesterday at the KIP session is detailed, but in essence, we will all definitely protect all the existing documents,” he said.
