shrimp
in Cikande, Banten.
Evita asked the government to explain whether shrimp contaminated with Cs-137, apart from being exported, were also sold domestically.
“Is this what is distributed domestically, sir? We are talking about shrimp that are exported. This is from the same place, of these hundreds of companies, are there any that are distributed domestically or not?”he asked in a working meeting with the Ministry of Industry, Monday (10/11).

The reason is, the PDIP politician admitted that he was suspicious that the shrimp were also distributed domestically.He therefore asked the government to focus on investigating the alleged distribution of the shrimp.
“It’s us who are safe abroad,

with all of us.”It’s possible that this is also a local distribution where no action has been taken,” he said.
He urged the Ministry of Industry to explain to the public whether shrimp companies contaminated with Cs-137 distributed their products domestically.
“I want to know information from the many companies you mentioned earlier, whether their products are specifically for export, whether some are distributed domestically,” said Evita.
“Be careful, you know. We have to protect our people, our society. If there is domestic distribution, it must also be withdrawn from the market, sir,” he stressed.
The Cs-137 radiation case became an international concern after the United States (US) and Dutch authorities detected radioactive exposure in two types of products from Indonesia, namely sneakers and frozen shrimp.
US Customs and Border Protection also detected Cs-137 in frozen shrimp products from Indonesia.
“On August 14 2025, the US FDA released import alert 9951 for shrimp products originating from Indonesia because there was Cs-137 contamination. This shrimp was produced by PT Bahari Makmur Sejati which is located in the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate industrial area,” explained the Director General of the Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta, in a meeting.
