Italy
defeated with a big score of 1-4 from Norway in the deciding match for the 2026 World Cup Qualification, Sunday (16/11) local time.
Italy, which received full support from supporters, was helpless at the San Siro Stadium, Milan.

“We have to rediscover our confidence and self-belief, and I’m sure thanks to our coaches, we will be able to do that.”
Donarumma also provided his analysis regarding Norway’s disappointing results.According to him, the Gli Azzurri players seemed to stop playing in the second half which Erling Haaland and his friends were able to take advantage of.
“We shouldn’t have conceded the third goal, the fourth goal came in the 93rd minute, but the big problem was that we stopped playing in the second half,” he said.
“The match in the first half was completely different, we never let them get out of their own defensive area. We have to do that for 95 minutes, not 45 minutes,” he continued.
The negative result of losing 1-4 made Italy finish in second place in Group I of the 2026 World Cup Qualification standings. Norway topped the standings and qualified directly for the 2026 World Cup.
Italy’s hope of qualifying for the finals is still there by fighting in the playoffs to compete for the four remaining tickets to the 2026 World Cup from the European zone.
