A doctor has been sentenced to life in prison for poisoning 30 of his patients including children.
As many as 12 of the 30 patients he poisoned died.

A court in France sentenced Frederic Pechier to life imprisonment.
According to court documents, Pechier’s youngest victim was 4 years old and the oldest victim was 89 years old.
Court documents say the 53-year-old doctor committed the crime to show off his resuscitation skills and discredit his colleagues.
“You will be immediately imprisoned,” the presiding judge, Delphine Thibierge, was quoted as saying on Thursday (18/12).

Pechier denies all the accusations leveled against him.He was also not detained during the investigation.
French authorities launched an investigation in 2017 after one of their patients died from suspected cardiac arrest during surgery.
Pechier worked as an anesthesiologist at two clinics in the city of Besancon, France from 2008 to 2017. Of the patients treated, 12 of them did not survive.
Pechier’s youngest victim, a 4-year-old child named Teddy.He survived cardiac arrest during tonsillectomy in 2016.
Since the French launched an investigation, residents have welcomed it cheerfully.
The child whose father was Pechier’s victim, Amandine Lehlen, said he had been waiting for this moment for almost two decades.Lehlen’s father died after heart surgery in 2008.
“I waited for this for 17 years,” Lehlen said.
