DKI Provincial Government
provides 100 percent exemption from Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PPB – P2) for
private school
in Jakarta.
This policy is regulated through the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 857 of 2025.

Prastowo said PBB obligations for private schools from elementary, middle and high schools, starting next year could be reduced by up to 100 percent.
Prastowo said the idea of 100 percent PBB-P2 exemption for private schools in Jakarta emerged shortly after his party reviewed various policies that had been in effect in Jakarta.
The provincial government also collects various complaints from managers of private schools in Jakarta who have been burdened with large PBB burdens.
The PBB-P2 exemption means that private school budgets can be diverted to more urgent needs, especially improving the quality of education.
Prastowo hopes that the exemption from PBB for private schools can ease the operational burden on schools, maintain the sustainability of private educational institutions, and contribute to increasing access and quality of education in Jakarta.
“This policy is not just about taxes, but about partisanship. The state must not take away from those who are actually carrying out the most basic social function, namely making the nation’s life intelligent,” said Prastowo.
Referring to DKI Jakarta Education Data, currently the number of schools in the province is more than 10 thousand providers.Around eight thousand of them or 80 percent are held privately at the PAUD to SMA level.
