) this year.Reservations can be made starting today.
This transportation fare discount is a stimulus for the year-end holiday period which has been determined through a Joint Decree (SKB) of four Ministers/Agency Heads, namely the Minister of Transportation, the Minister of Finance, BP BUMN, and BPI Danantara.SKB Number PJ-MHB 9 of 2025, Number 303.2 of 2025, Number 20 of 2025, and Number SKB.10/DI-BP/X/2025.
“We invite people to use and optimize this stimulus when traveling during Christmas,” said Dudy in a written statement, Thursday (20/11).

This tariff discount stimulus will be implemented simultaneously starting November 21 2025 at 00.01 WIB.For train and ferry transportation, the discount applies to travel from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.
Meanwhile, for sea transportation, the implementation period starts earlier, namely from 17 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, according to shipping operational needs.
This policy continues the previous program of reducing airline ticket rates by 13-14 percent which came into effect at the end of October, in line with the issuance of Minister of Finance Regulation Number 71 of 2025 concerning Government Borne VAT (DTP) for air transportation services.
The target is that 3.59 million passengers can enjoy discounts on air transportation rates.
“This fare discount stimulus is provided so that people can travel at lower costs without reducing safety aspects and service quality,” he stressed.
Train
In the train mode, the government has set a 30 percent discount for commercial economy train tickets, covering 156 regular trips and 26 additional trips, with a target of 1,509,080 passengers.
This policy is expected to reduce the use of private vehicles and increase public interest in using rail-based modes that are safe, orderly and efficient, while optimizing the capacity of the rail network for medium and long distance travel.
Sea Ship
For sea transportation, the government provides a 20 percent discount from the basic fare, equivalent to a 16-18 percent discount on the total ticket price.This stimulus targets 405,881 economy class passengers on various inter-island routes, especially those that are the main access for mobility for coastal communities and 3T areas.
Apart from reducing travel costs, this policy supports public transportation service providers that reach all regions of the archipelago.
Ferry
For ferry modes, the government provides a discount of 100 percent of port service rates, which is equivalent to an average discount of 19 percent from the integrated rate.
This policy covers eight routes at 16 ports, with a target of 227,560 passengers, 491,776 vehicles.The crossing stimulus is one of the most strategic considering the high mobility of people across islands during the Christmas period.
