Indonesia is said to have agreed to buy fuel with pure octane content without any additives (
base fuel
) from PT
Pertamina
(Persero).
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung said Shell would receive fuel supplies

as many as 100 thousand barrels from the state-owned oil and gas company.
“Approximately 100 thousand barrels (Pertamina fuel to Shell),” said Yuliot in a press conference at the Sheraton Gandaria Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (25/11).

Yuliot mentioned the delivery of fuel

to Shell is planned to be carried out today at the Plumpang BBM Terminal, North Jakarta.
“This is planned for today, we have arrived at the handover point agreed upon by Pertamina and Shell,” he explained.
Previously, BP AKR had also agreed to buy BBM
base fuel
from Pertamina, followed by PT Vivo Energi Indonesia.BP and Vivo also received the same stock as Shell.
“The distribution of fuel supplies for Vivo Private BU is 100 thousand barrels (MB) which will be used for Vivo gas stations, after previously in the first stage 100 MB of fuel supplies were also distributed to PT APR (BP-AKR),” explained Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun.
The negotiation process for purchasing fuel owned by Pertamina and private business entities (BU) was quite tough some time ago.However, after stock was empty for a long time, a deal was finally made.
“For us, providing energy for the community is the main priority, energy is a driver of productivity in people’s lives. We will continue to strive to ensure that the fuel supply remains safe, high quality and easily accessible to the community for the sake of national energy security,” stressed Robert.
