Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, ordered all ranks in the region
Aceh
to immediately speed up the distribution of aid to residents affected by floods and landslides.
He conveyed this instruction after inspecting a number of evacuation points in Bukit Raya, Aceh Tamiang, on Wednesday (3/12).On this occasion, Dedi asked the staff to rent trucks belonging to residents if needed to facilitate the distribution of aid.
“The police chief controls it. If there are limited trucks, rent them. Where was the help from the ship yesterday?”he said to the ranks.

Dedi also asked active personnel to collect data on residents’ priority needs, starting from clean water, drinking water, clothing, to the availability of trucks carrying logistics from the port to evacuation points.
Apart from that, he provided direction regarding the operation of Brimob tactical vehicles, including water treatment units and water jets to meet the residents’ need for useable water.
Dedi said that his party would send two additional water treatment devices and a water jet to address the need for clean water at the refugee camps.
“We will manage existing water sources, then process them so they can be distributed directly to the community. Meanwhile, water jets use airborne methods to produce water that is ready for use,” he explained.
Furthermore, Dedi added that his party would also send 16 tons of aid logistics to the Aceh region.The distribution will involve regional governments by prioritizing areas that are still isolated.
“For logistics, it will still be sent every day. Tomorrow we will send 16 tons of logistics for the needs of the people in Aceh Tangguh,” he said.
Dedi also promised to send 600 sets of clothing to members serving in the Aceh Tamiang Police area.
