and musical entertainment on New Year’s Eve 2026. This policy was taken as a form of local government focus in handling and recovering from the impact of the major flood disaster that hit Denpasar on September 10.
Head of the Denpasar City Culture Service (Disbud), Raka Purwantara, said that the regional budget is currently prioritizing more urgent needs, especially those related to disasters.
“So, fireworks and music this year are not a priority because we are more focused on disaster management,” said Purwantara, quoted from detikBali, Saturday (20/12).

He explained that at the end of the previous year the Denpasar Disbud had collaborated with the Denpasar Tourism Department (Dispar) in celebrating the New Year.At that time, Dispar held an event at Mertasari Beach, Sanur, while Disbud held activities in the Catur Muka area, Denpasar.
Even without fireworks and music concerts, the Denpasar Disbud ensures that it will continue to facilitate cultural activities through the 2025 Cultural Festival and the 2026 Celebration of the Sun. The event is planned to be held at the Puputan Badung I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung Field, Denpasar.
According to Purwantara, this activity will showcase various traditional arts involving art studios in Denpasar City.A number of elements were also involved, starting from the Religious Harmony Forum to the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
“This celebration is generally open to the people of Denpasar City and is free of charge,” said Purwantara.
He also hopes that the weather conditions will be friendly during the 2025 Cultural Release Event. On the other hand, the public is advised to maintain security and order when celebrating the New Year.
“If you really want to set off fireworks, do it in an open area and far from residential areas. So that people who have sick family members or babies are not disturbed,” he concluded.
