The constitutional law expert said that the suspect status assigned to Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa was an attempt to silence voices critical of power.
“I decided to become a legal representative because I wanted to emphasize that there should be no use of power which then silences people’s critical attitudes, even when dealing with former presidents,” said Denny, quoting his personal Instagram account, Friday (14/11).

He also emphasized that he had joined in defending Roy Suryo Cs to fight Jokowi who had damaged democracy at the end of his term of office.
“Because of what? Because former President Jokowi has shown how he damaged the democratic order, especially in his final period of office,” he said.
Furthermore, Denny also said that everyone has the right to reveal the truth of public documents such as diplomas, and that no one should report them to the police, including former presidents.
“In fact, what we have been waiting for a long time, former President Jokowi should show the authenticity of his diploma with a gentleman,” he continued.
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya had named eight suspects divided into two clusters related to this case.
The first cluster consists of five suspects, namely Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.
The second cluster consists of three suspects, namely Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias Dr Tifa.
In this case, investigators said Roy Suryo cs had spread false accusations and misled the public.This conclusion is based on the results of examination of 130 witnesses and 22 experts, including an in-depth examination of 723 pieces of evidence.
