Volodymyr Zelensky submitted his resignation on Wednesday (12/11), after being accused of being involved in a massive corruption scandal in the energy sector.
Justice Minister German Galushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk resigned because they were deemed to have received “personal benefits” from the corruption case.

Reported by AFP, investigators suspect that the two ministers who were Zelensky’s main allies orchestrated a bribery scheme worth US$100 million to embezzle funds, which sparked public anger at a time when Ukraine was being hit by war and power outages due to Russian attacks.
Zelensky also emphasized that the two ministers must submit their resignations.
“The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy cannot keep their posts,” Zelensky said.
Shortly afterward, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said the two ministers had submitted their resignations.
Allegations of massive corruption revealed earlier this week centered on kickbacks from contracts involving the state nuclear operator and electricity provider Energoatom.
In this case, Grynchuk replaced Galushchenko as energy minister last summer.
Investigators also revealed that this bribery scheme was masterminded by Timur Mindich, Zelensky’s former business partner.Mindich is one of the owners of the production company Kvartal 95, which Zelensky founded when he was still a comedian before entering politics.
This scandal also sparked anger among Ukrainians who recently experienced frequent electricity and heating blackouts due to Russian bombing.
“This is disgusting. They are destroying us, our reputation and our future,” said Ukrainian content creator Davyd.
“We won’t have a future if we have criminals like that,” he said
