Corruption Eradication Commission
(KPK) denies the exchange of handling of the alleged corruption case of Google Cloud at the Ministry of Education and Culture and the procurement of Petral crude oil with the Attorney General’s Office (

As is known, the anti-corruption agency will hand over the Google Cloud case to the Attorney General’s Office because it is connected to the case of purchasing Chromebook laptops.Meanwhile, the alleged Petral corruption case was handed over by the Attorney General’s Office to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which is also investigating the related case.
“We ensure that it is not a swap,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Thursday (20/11).

Budi explained that the reason for handing over the Google Cloud case to the AGO was because there was a connection with the Chromebook corruption case which was being handled by the AGO, so that the investigation process could run more effectively.
“Because we see that there is a strong enough wedge so that the investigation process can be carried out effectively, the Corruption Eradication Commission will then delegate Google Cloud to the Attorney General’s Office,” he said.
On the other hand, Budi said that his party positively assessed the AGO’s move to delegate handling of the crude oil case at Petral to the Corruption Eradication Commission.
“By handing over a similar investigation by friends of the Attorney General’s Office, this will certainly be a practice of positive synergy to then support each other between APH (law enforcement officials),” he said.
Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission Asep Guntur Rahayu also provided an explanation regarding this matter.He said that in the law it is stated that if you secure a case, you can certainly get assistance from other Law Enforcement Agency (APH).
“Yes, the legislators also predicted that one day there would be a case where one case was handled by two or more law enforcement officers. Well, the solution is, it is clearly stated there that the person who handles the case first or at the investigation stage handles it first, then it will be supported by the other APH,” explained Asep at the KPK’s red and white building, Thursday night (20/11).
Asep also emphasized that the Google Cloud corruption case is related to the Chromebook case which is currently being handled by the AGO.
