“It is impossible to eradicate corruption solely by relying on action. Therefore, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) pays great attention to anti-corruption education to form individual integrity from an early age,” said Amir in Yogyakarta, Sunday (7/12).
Amir said that the Corruption Eradication Commission is a strategic partner for educators who play an important role in shaping children’s moral character at an early age.
“Whatever our children’s profession will be, the important foundation is honesty. In the midst of increasingly complex challenges, character education is not enough just to play, but needs to be strengthened by understanding the values of integrity,” he added.
This joint activity with a number of early childhood education staff associations in Yogyakarta was filled with screenings of three films from the Anti-Corruption Film Festival (ACFFEST) competition.
The three films are Only Printer (ACFFEST 2024) which is the work of Sri Suratiyah;Holy Bread on Saturday (ACFFEST 2024), by the sciences Emilianus U. K. Patar and Boniface M. Kolin;and Sorry Mama, I’m Letting Go (ACFFEST 2022), an artwork by Jalu Pandita.
Amir added that each film teaches the values of honesty, independence, responsibility, courage, simplicity, caring, discipline, fairness and hard work.
“We also emphasize that the issue of corruption is closely related to various problems, including ecological impacts. Therefore, anti-corruption literacy must continue to be developed so that the younger generation is able to see the impact of corruption more broadly,” he concluded.
