The event for awarding the title of national hero is part of the 2025 Heroes’ Day commemoration series.
This determination is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 116/TK of 2025 concerning the Awarding of the Title of National Hero

The award ceremony was attended by the heirs who also represented the figures to receive the title.
At this year’s award, there were two former Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia who received the title of national hero.They are the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto and the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur.
Then former RPKAD Leader General (HOR) (Ret.) Sarwo Edhie Wibowo.Then there was also the activist and labor figure who was killed during the New Order era, Marsinah.
Then, former Minister of Foreign Affairs who is also a Professor at the Unpad Faculty of Law, Mochtar Kusumaatmadja.
