The main targets for drilling wells are mosques and prayer rooms, health centers, schools, refugee camps and various other public facilities.
According to him, as of Friday (19/12), the progress of drilling well construction had reached 23 points that were already operational.
“The details include the construction of a new drilled well at the Aceh Tamiang Police Station, 14 points at the mosque and prayer room, one point at the Kuala Simpang Terminal Post, one point at the Islamic boarding school, one point at the school, one point at the refugee camp, and two points at residential areas,” said Erdi in Jakarta, Sunday (21/12), as reported by Antara.
Apart from that, the National Police also rehabilitated two drilled wells belonging to residents so that they could be used again.
Erdi said that the drilled well construction program was a concrete manifestation of the National Police’s presence in society, especially after a disaster.
“The construction of this drilled well is a form of Polri’s commitment to helping the community meet their basic needs for clean water, especially in areas affected by floods and landslides. We hope that this facility can be utilized optimally for the common good,” he said.
He ensured that the National Police would continue to coordinate with the regional government and local communities so that the entire target of building 300 drilled wells could be realized well and on target.
Apart from improving the quality of life of the people of Aceh Tamiang, this activity also aims to strengthen the synergy between the National Police and the community in managing the impact of disasters.
