Xi Jinping promised to provide aid worth US$100 million or around Rp. 1.6 trillion to
Palestine
to defuse the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Xi made the announcement in a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron during Macron’s three-day state visit to China and ended on Friday.

“China will provide US$100 million in aid to Palestine to relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and support its recovery and reconstruction,” Xi said at a meeting in Beijing, as conveyed by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Thursday (4/12), reported by Anadolu.
Xi assessed that the world is currently far from calm because various international political conflicts and disputes are still ongoing in many regions.
He also said China and France will work together to push for a comprehensive, just and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue.
Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Xi told Macron that China supports all efforts conducive to peace and hopes the parties can reach a fair, durable and binding peace agreement through dialogue and negotiation.
He added that China will continue to play a constructive role in the political resolution of the crisis and oppose any irresponsible attempts to shift blame or demonize others.
After a series of meetings in Beijing, Xi and Macron traveled to Chengdu, Sichuan, on Friday to hold informal talks.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian, said the aid would be used for post-conflict reconstruction to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
“China firmly supports the Palestinian people’s struggle to restore their legitimate national rights and will continue to cooperate with the international community for a full and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, improvement of the humanitarian situation, as well as an early political settlement of the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution,” Lin said.
