Two commissioners and the secretary of the General Election Commission (
KPU
) Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, was named a suspect in the alleged grant fund corruption case

The suspects are the Chairman of the Pangkep KPU, Ichlas and the commissioner, Muarrif and the KPU Secretary, Agus Salim as budget users or PPK.
“In this process there are three suspects, AS as budget user, I as chairman and M as commissioner,” said Head of the Pangkep Prosecutor’s Office, Jhon Ilef Malammasam to journalists, Monday (1/12).

In this case, said Jhon, the three suspects were identified as the people most responsible for the procurement process at the Pangkep KPU, which caused state financial losses of IDR 544 million.
“The suspects were directly involved in several KPU activity processes, such as the procurement of APK goods and services and other KPU activities,” he said.
Jhon said that the chairman and commissioners of the Pangkep KPU did not have authority in the procurement process.However, it is suspected that they intervened during the procurement process.
“This is in the procurement process at the KPU, the chairman and commissioners do not have the authority to intervene in the procurement process,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Pangkep KPU, said Jhon, as PPPK is a person who is competent in the procurement process at the KPU.
“In fact, it turns out that there was a conspiracy, yes, between the three of them, to select the prospective provider,” he said.
Then, during the procurement process, it is alleged that the three suspects asked for a fee of 10 percent from the partner they appointed directly, without following the e-procurement process according to the regulations.So, based on the audit results of the South Sulawesi Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), it was found that state losses amounted to IDR 554 million.
“From this action, the Prosecutor’s Office managed to confiscate IDR 206 million in cash as evidence of the proceeds of crime,” he said.
After being named as suspects, the three of them were immediately detained for the next 20 days at the Pangkep Detention Center for the investigation process.
“In this case, investigators have examined 28 witnesses, including three expert witnesses and seven key witnesses,” he said.
The suspects were charged with violating Article 2
juncto
Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Corruption.
