The life story of the legendary Indonesian poet,
Chairil Anwar
, is certain to be produced for the big screen.Production house Falcon Pictures revealed that it has started the initial stages for the Chairil Anwar biopic.
Producer Frederica said her team is starting to finalize the film’s script, but no decision has yet been made on the star and director who will helm the biopic of the poet dubbed “The Bitch.”

“It just takes a year,” said Frederica when met in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, Saturday (22/11).
Frederica only gave a brief hint that the character who plays Chairil Anwar is a true artist.
Not only that, Falcon Pictures invited the public to participate by asking the question, “Who do you think is suitable to play Chairil Anwar?”via their social media.

These are the reasons why there has been no official announcement regarding the screening schedule for the biopic Chairil Anwar.
Frederica hopes that the Chairil Anwar biopic will not only be entertainment, but also a celebration of his literary legacy and courage.
The poet’s contribution through famous poems, such as Aku, Doa, and Derai-Derai Cemara makes him a symbol of resistance and freedom of thought.The date of his death, April 28, was even declared National Poetry Day.
Chairil Anwar clearly has a big influence on Indonesian literature.He was crowned by H.B.Jassin is a pioneer of the Class of ’45, as well as modern Indonesian poetry.He is even considered instrumental in renewing Indonesian poetry.
Chairil Anwar is estimated to have written 96 works, including 70 poems.He became known to the public after his poem entitled Nisan was published in 1942, when he was 20 years old.
His monumental works include the poems Aku, Derai-Derai Cemara, Diponegoro, Senja di Pelabuhan Kecil, and Doa.
