Ahmad revealed that the alpha value for the 2026 Central Java UMP was set at 0.90, while the alpha value in districts/cities was adjusted according to the results of discussions by each regional wage council.
“Specifically for provinces, the alpha is 0.90, while districts are adjusted to their respective capabilities,” he said.
He hopes that this decision can be accepted by all parties and will become the basis for creating harmonious industrial relations in Central Java.
“My hope is that workers return to work and improve their work ethic, and that entrepreneurs comply with this minimum wage so that companies grow and develop,” he said.
Ahmad reminded that wage stability and compliance with regulations will have a positive impact on the investment climate in the region, in fact Central Java’s economic growth has reached 5.37 percent, higher than the national average.
The Central Java Provincial Government has also prepared a number of supporting policies that support workers, including the preparation of a Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) on Labor Cooperatives.
Apart from that, strengthening access to transportation for workers, namely by setting the Trans Jateng bus fare at IDR 1,000 for workers, as well as making a governor’s regulation regarding the provision of daycare in the company environment, as well as supporting affordable worker housing programs.
“We are also preparing supporting policies, starting from worker cooperatives, transportation, daycare, to worker housing, so that workers’ living needs can be more affordable and efficient,” he said.
Meanwhile, a number of labor union representatives appreciated the determination of the Central Java UMP 2026. This is because the calculation of the UMP value uses a maximum alpha value of 0.90.
Chairman of the Central Java National Workers’ Union (SPN) DPD Maksuri emphasized that from the start his party had consistently fought for the use of the highest alpha number in accordance with applicable regulations.
The struggle is carried out by SPN in all regions through the involvement of union representatives in district/city wage councils.
“Representation from the National Workers’ Union through the wage council remains at 0.90,” said Maksuri.
