officially withdrew from the soccer sports championship in
SEA Games 2025
.Cambodia’s withdrawal has the potential for a drawing or re-draw.
This information was obtained from Instagram Asean Football on Wednesday (26/11) evening WIB.
“Cambodia has officially withdrawn from men’s and women’s football at the 2025 SEA Games, following a letter sent by the Cambodian National Olympic Committee on November 26,” wrote a statement from Asean Football.

Cambodia’s withdrawal was part of a larger decision by eight sports due to security concerns raised by the country’s officials.
“With Cambodia’s withdrawal from men’s football, Group A now only has two teams left: Thailand and Timor Leste. This has prompted the SEA Games Federation to consider a redraw,” wrote Asean Football.
Cambodia’s withdrawal made the composition of the competition in the group phase unequal.A redraw may be inevitable.
Group A only consists of Thailand and Timor Leste, while Group B consists of Vietnam, Malaysia and Laos.Group C involves four countries: Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Myanmar.

Cambodia is now only participating in 13 sports at the 2025 SEA Games. The sports that are still being participated in are swimming, athletics, e-sports, fencing, gymnastics, jujitsu, kickboxing, taekwondo, horse riding, jet skiing, triathlon, teqball and volleyball.
This decision was made to protect athletes and staff, while also hoping for an announcement from the SEA Games Federation and the National Olympic Committee of Thailand.
