Six years of work in the Cambodian League made Mirzaev pass the country’s naturalization requirements.All players without blood ancestry can be naturalized after five years of residence in Cambodia.
Uzbek media, Zamin, also highlighted the career development of Mirzaev who is now legally a Cambodian citizen.
“Uzbekistan midfielder Alisher Mirzaev, who plays for one of Cambodia’s best teams, Visakha, has ended his five-year career in the country with a new leaf,” wrote

“He was officially recognized as a Cambodian citizen and strengthened his position in the local football system, until the player received that country’s citizenship,” the Zamin report continued.
Mirzaev joined Vizakha in 2020 and immediately became a key player.The player born in Karakalpakstan adapted quickly and became one of the stars in the Cambodian League.
The 29-year-old midfielder has played for the Uzbekistan U-16 and U-20 national teams.Since he was young, Mirzaev has actually been known as a player who has great potential.
Previously, Cambodia also successfully naturalized eight players from different countries.Three of them are Japanese-born footballers.
