Trans Light bus
who survived a fatal accident that killed 16 passengers at the Krapyak Interchange, Semarang, Central Java, was named as a suspect.
“This afternoon, investigators also conducted a case to determine the driver of the Cahaya Trans bus which had an accident as a suspect,” said Semarang Police Chief, Commissioner Muhammad Syahduddi, Tuesday (23/12).

Syahduddi said the determination of the suspect was based on sufficient preliminary evidence.The police have examined four witnesses and taken expert statements regarding the condition of the bus.
“We have examined four witnesses who saw and experienced the accident, the passengers who survived, and those who suffered minor injuries. We have taken statements from four people,” said Syahduddi.
The suspect was charged with Article 310 Paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.The threat is a maximum prison sentence of 6 years.
The Cahaya Trans single bus accident occurred at the Krapyak Toll Road Exit Interchange, Semarang City, Monday (22/12).A total of 16 people were declared dead out of a total of 34 people on the bus.Meanwhile, 18 others survived.
Don’t understand the way
Based on the results of the investigation, the police also said that Gilang had only driven the Cahaya Trans bus twice and did not understand the road.Gilang also didn’t have time to step on the brakes.
“The person concerned had only driven the bus twice and admitted that he did not understand the character of the roads around the crime scene,” said Syahduddi.
“So when the person concerned entered the Krapyak Toll interchange at quite high speed, he was suddenly surprised that in front of him there was a bend leading to the left,” he continued.
Apart from that, it was revealed that the speedometer of the deadly bus was not working.
