canceled his attendance at the G20 Summit in South Africa because it coincided with a number of agendas in Indonesia.
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will represent Prabowo at the event which will be held on November 22-23.

“That’s right. The schedule for the G20 Summit in South Africa coincides with several of the President’s agendas in Indonesia, so the President will be represented by the Vice President at the G20,” said Teddy via short message, Friday (21/11).
Apart from that, Teddy said Prabowo had also sent Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Lt. Gen. TNI (ret.) Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus as a special presidential envoy to meet directly with South African President Ramafosa to submit a letter requesting his absence.
Gibran visited Johannesburg, South Africa representing Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to attend the G20 Summit on 22-23 November 2025.
Quoting a press release from the Vice President’s Secretariat, Gibran took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Indonesian Air Force Base, Jakarta, for Johannesburg, South Africa on Friday (21/11) this morning.
Gibran is scheduled to deliver a speech representing Prabowo while also emphasizing Indonesia’s position on various priority global issues.
Apart from that, during the G20 Summit series, Gibran is also scheduled to hold a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of friendly countries to convey Prabowo’s message, especially in the context of strengthening relations and cooperation between countries.
