In the last few weeks, the names Timur Kapadze and Heimir Hellgrimsson have been widely discussed as potential coaches for the Indonesian National Team.
Kapadze himself admitted that he was impressed by the response of Indonesian supporters who wanted him.Meanwhile, Hallgrimsson was linked with Indonesia by the Irish media.Regarding these reports, Sumardji opened his voice.

“I will not answer. Yes, once again I will not respond regarding the names. But I still think that what was conveyed by the General Chair, five names, is what will be carried out in depth,” said Sumardji, Friday (14/11).
“And up to now it is still in process. This means I am also observing, and I have also conveyed that to coach Alexander [Zwiers],” added Sumardji.
Sumardji also reminded all parties to respect the process carried out by PSSI.Previously, PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir said that he had five names of potential coaches for the Indonesian National Team.
“And I have repeatedly asked coach Alexander, the next thing is that if I ask about the names of which countries, I will not tell. Yes, we want to quickly [announce the coach’s name]. Again, this is a process,” said Sumardji.
“This process, it comes back again, I always ask coach Alexander, when can these names be brought to the meeting? From BTN they have been sent, Alex is also there. So according to what was conveyed by the General Chair, I carry it out.”
The Indonesian National Team Manager said that the Garuda Squad coach would be announced after the PSSI executive committee (Exco) meeting.
“As BTN, I carry out the mandate of the General Chair, which is for me to carry out. Again, but yes, the decisions and results of all this will be brought to the exco meeting,” said Sumardji.
