) Arif Satria confirmed that Indonesian researchers will be the main authors in Oxford University’s scientific publications regarding the findings

He said this in response to the non-listing of Indonesian researchers in scientific publications regarding these findings.

Arif said the publication would include the names of those involved in the discovery.
He said that this scientific publication would become a reference for world scientists.
“International publications of course include all researchers, both foreign and internal, and BRIN researchers are the main authors,” he said.
The discovery of the rare plant Rafflesia hasseltii in Sijunjung, West Sumatra has recently received world attention.
The discovery was a collaboration between The University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum and the RIIM Expedition Program.
BRIN is collaborating with two research institutions from Bengkulu University and the Bengkulu Puspa Langka Care Community.
However, what has recently come into focus is that in its upload Oxford University did not include researchers from Indonesia.
“Yesterday, @thorogoodchris1 from Oxford Botanic Garden’s was part of a team that explored the rainforest of Sumatra (an island in Indonesia) which is guarded by tigers day and night to find Rafflesia hasseltii,” wrote the @University of Oxford account, seen Monday (24/11).
One of them was responded to by former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who said that researchers from Indonesia were also involved in the expedition.
He also asked Oxford University to name the Indonesian researchers in announcing the findings.
“To @UniofOxford, our Indonesian researchers – Joko Witono, Septi Andriki, and Iswandi – are not NPCs. Please also mention their names,” wrote Anies.
