) recruited 190 thousand officers to carry out
economic census
national year in June-July 2026 to collect data on all business actors which is carried out once every 10 years.
Deputy Head of BPS RI Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi in a focus group discussion activity on the socialization of the 2026 economic census in Pekanbaru said that his party would launch this activity in January 2026 and recruitment would be carried out in February 2026.
“We need 190 thousand officers in the field, from students, lecturers, academics, please join because this is labor intensive throughout Indonesia. The pay depends on the number of respondents they collect, possibly IDR 3 million-IDR 5 million per month,” he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday (22/11).

He said the economic census was a big celebration for BPS to enumerate all business actors.About once every 10 years is determined because the economic structure can change over time.
For this reason, he said that he really needed the support of all parties, including the Riau Provincial Government.Moreover, Riau is the second largest economy in Sumatra which definitely has a large number of business actors.
“All business actors are recorded starting from the household level. Thank you for the support of the Riau Provincial Government, the Governor has invited relevant stakeholders such as business actors and academics to attend to support the economic census in June-July 2026,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Riau, SF Hariyanto, stated that he was ready to support the 2026 economic census. His party will open it as widely as possible by providing definite, correct and accurate data.
“This will be a guideline for the next 10 years as input for the Riau Provincial Government in the future. We support how our companies collaborate, if they don’t want to, we will write to them and take an approach,” he said.
