) officially released the Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields
(KBLI) 2025
.
KBLI 2025 is regulated in Central Statistics Agency Regulation Number 7 of 2025 dated 18 December 2025 concerning Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields.
This classification was designed by BPS to group various economic activities into certain groups based on similar activity characteristics.

Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that the 2025 KBLI is a refinement of the 2020 KBLI which continues to be updated following the needs of the times so that it can remain relevant and responsive to developments in economic activity.
“Refinements to the KBLI are carried out every 5 years so that it remains relevant and responsive to the needs of the times and developments in economic activity,” said Amalia in the 2025 KBLI Release press conference at the BPS office, Central Jakarta, Friday (19/12).
In the 2025 KBLI, there is a new category which is split from the “Information and Communication” category in the 2020 KBLI.
These categories are “Publishing, Broadcasting Activities, and Content Production and Distribution”, and “Telecommunications Activities, Computer Programming, Consultancy, Computer Infrastructure and Other Information Services”.
The breakdown of these categories refers to the recommendations of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) Revision 5 issued by the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC).
“Category J, information and communication is divided into two, namely categories J and K where category J is broadcast publishing activities as well as content production and distribution while the second category is to capture telecommunications activities, computer programming, consultancy, computing infrastructure and other information services,” he explained.
Furthermore, Amalia explained that in the 2025 KBLI there are several fixed categories, but there are name adjustments.
“For example, category C, which in the 2020 KBLI was processing industry, then in the 2025 KBLI the name was simplified to industry,” said Amalia.
Apart from that, there are categories that are undergoing recoding or adjustments due to the existence of new categories.
