Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (
BPOM
) RI found five herbal medicines
gout
dangerous and widely consumed by the public.
This discovery was made based on BPOM patrols from 2023 to the first quarter of 2025.

These five products are known to contain medicinal chemicals (BKO).Use of BKO that is not in accordance with the regulations can trigger long-term problems.

, each BKO can trigger different side effects.For example, dexamethasone, which can increase the risk of diabetes and osteoporosis if consumed excessively and not according to the rules.
There is also diclofenac sodium which can trigger stomach problems, nervousness, swelling, and even tinnitus problems.In more sensitive cases, BKO can even trigger kidney problems.
There is also sildenafil citrate which can trigger digestive problems, vision problems, and even heart problems.
The following is a list of five dangerous gout herbs found by BPOM, citing

1. Tong Mai Dan — contains dexamethasone and diclofenac sodium
2. Mangosteen Honey Cap — contains sildenafil citrate and paracetamol
3. Wild Wasp — contains tramadol
4. Uric Acid + Bone Flu Herb Mahkota Dewa — contains phenylbutazone and paracetamol
5. Herbalin Capsules — contains paracetamol
