emphasized that all parties involved in the flood control corruption scandal will be thrown in prison at the end of this year.
In a televised press conference on Thursday (13/11), Bongbong said the government had implemented a number of actions against individuals involved in the Philippine flood control project corruption scandal.

Some of these cases have been submitted to the Ombudsman by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).There are at least 37 members of parliament, officials and contractors who were involved in this first wave.
Marcos did not specify who the 37 parties were.However, based on ICI records, Senators Joel Villanueva and Jinggoy Estrada, as well as former congressman Zaldy Co are included in the list.
“Before Christmas, the cases against the names that I have handled will be completed. The cases are complete and they will be imprisoned. They will not be able to celebrate Christmas,” said Bongbong, as quoted

Marcos said that currently the government’s priority is to put all the guilty in prison.The government will also recover all stolen funds and carry out reforms to make sustainable changes.
The Philippines was recently hit by a corruption scandal over flood control projects after severe flooding submerged parts of the country for weeks.
The government suspects that billions of pesos are missing in the flood control project, which has been running since 2022.
Bongbong was the first to reveal the anomaly of the flood control project in his fourth state speech.After the inspection, Bongbong said that a number of well-known contractors were ‘playing’ in this public project.
One of these contractors belongs to businessman Discaya.
Bongbong then formed an independent body tasked with investigating the corruption case in this flood control project.This commission has the authority to summon suspects for questioning.
