“You can enter from Tarutung, Taput to Sibolga, but the capacity of incoming vehicles is still small because it is also guarded by security forces,” said Bobby after inspecting transportation facilities for the Christmas and New Year homecoming at Medan Train Station, Wednesday (24/12).
Bobby appealed to travelers – both those using public transportation and private vehicles – to continue to anticipate potential vulnerabilities, especially when crossing highland areas. In particular, he said, for drivers on routes to the North Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, South Tapanuli and Sibolga City areas,
“What is certain is which routes can be used and what the road capacity is. So it will be adjusted to the type of bus that passes. And every consideration will be conveyed by the team on standby,” explained Bobby.
Bobby also reminded the public to pay attention to weather conditions before traveling.Weather information is important so drivers can anticipate the equipment needed and estimate travel time.
“The advice is of course to be careful because there is a lot of information regarding the weather. So you can anticipate what equipment you need to bring on your trip, for how long,” said Bobby.
Bobby said that the homecoming flow and transportation services were conducive and smooth. He also mentioned that there was an inspection of transportation officers by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to ensure that all officers were free from drug abuse.
“For the readiness of land transportation modes such as buses, we are also ensuring their readiness to serve homecoming routes in several areas. Including the route to Tapanuli,” he said.
