National Disaster Management Agency (
BNPB
) said the main route in Aceh Province was still completely cut off due to the impact
flash flood
and landslides that have occurred since the end of last November.
“Almost all main routes in Aceh Province have been completely cut off, including the borders of Sumatra-Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues-Aceh Tamiang, Bireuen-Takengon, and Bener Meriah-Bireuen,” said Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari in his statement, Tuesday (2/12).
“The Banda Aceh-Lhokseumawe route is still cut off, but there is an alternative route via the Awe Geutah Suspension Bridge with limited access,” he continued.

Abdul said that the central government, through the PUPR Ministry, continues to accelerate repairs to this vital infrastructure.
BNPB has also activated Starlink emergency communication devices in East Aceh, North Aceh, Gayo Lues, Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, Lhokseumawe, Bireuen and Aceh Tamiang.Device mobilization for other regions is still ongoing.
On Monday (1/12), BNPB also distributed logistics by sea to Lhokseumawe City. The aid was loaded using the Express Bahari Ship from Krueng Geukeuh Harbor to Kuala Langsa Harbor.
Apart from that, air distribution of aid was also carried out in hard-to-reach areas such as Gayo Lues, Aceh Tamiang and Lhokseumawe.
Meanwhile in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), the government continues to make efforts to open land access in a number of districts that are still cut off.One route that is starting to open is Tarutung-Padangsidimpuan.
“The opening of road access was also carried out on the Tarutung-Sibolga route. This step has had a significant impact on the community as well as cross-sector ministries/institutions in handling emergencies. Access points that can be accessed have now reached Sibalanga Jae Hamlet or precisely in front of the Sibalanga Village Office, Adiankoting District, North Tapanuli,” he said.
Abdul said that the delivery of the first phase of aid to the cities of Sibolga, Central Tapanuli, South Tapanuli, North Tapanuli and Humbang Hasundutan had reached 100 percent.Distribution to Mandailing Natal, Gunungsitoli City and South Nias is still hampered by land access.
As a solution, air deliveries are still carried out using three BNPB and TNI AD helicopters.Several special air sorties were directed to areas that were still isolated such as Sopotinjak and Muara Siabu.
Then, logistics support in West Sumatra began to be distributed via air and sea.BNPB together with the TNI and Basarnas sent 4 tons of aid to Solok, Agam and West Pasaman Regencies on Monday (1/12).
“Deliveries by sea are also carried out to Nagari Sungai Batang, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency, which is still isolated due to closed road access,” said Abdul.
