Lahadalia stated that it would cut production targets
nickel
and
coal
in next year.
Bahlil said that cuts in nickel and coal production in the 2026 work plan and budget (RKAB) were aimed at raising the prices of the two commodities by regulating supply and demand.
“We cut everything. Not just nickel, we also cut coal,” said Bahlil after the Press Conference on Readiness of the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector Facing the Christmas Period, in Jakarta, Friday (19/12) as quoted

Bahlil said that coal prices are currently falling because the amount of coal traded is approximately 1.3 billion tons, of which Indonesia supplies half.
“Indonesia itself supplies around 500-600 million tons, almost 50 percent,” he said.
According to him, the high supply of coal from Indonesia caused coal prices to plummet.
The reference price for coal has shown a downward trend since November until now, where the price has fallen to US$98.26 per ton.Even though at the end of 2024, the price of coal will still be US$114.43 per ton.
“We are controlling companies that do not comply with the rules, so we apologize. The RKAB may also be reviewed,” said Bahlil.
