Attorney General’s Office: State Losses in Laptop Case to Ministry of Education and Culture Become IDR 2.1 Trillion

(AGO) stated that the total state losses in cases of alleged corruption in the education digitization program for laptop procurement at the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2019-2022 increased to IDR 2.1 trillion.
Previously, the AGO recorded that state losses in the alleged corruption case involving former Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim amounted to IDR 1.9 trillion.
“From the results of calculating state losses, figures were obtained, namely the expensive price of Chromebooks amounting to IDR 1,567,888,662,719.74 and the unnecessary and useless procurement of Chrome Device Management amounting to IDR 621,387,678,730,” said Director of Jampidsus AGO, Riono Budisantoso to journalists, Monday (8/12).

“So the total state losses reached more than IDR 2.1 trillion,” he continued.
Today the public prosecutor (JPU) has also submitted Nadiem’s ​​case files and indictment to the Central Jakarta Corruption Crime District Court (Tipikor).
Apart from Nadiem, the prosecutor also delegated the former SD Director, Director General at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Sri Wahyuningsih;Director of Middle Schools at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Mulyatsyah;and Technology Consultant Ibrahim Arief.
“Today, Monday 8 December 2025, the Public Prosecutor has officially submitted the case files and indictment to the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta District Court,” said Riono.
Riono said that through this delegation, Nadiem et al would soon undergo trial regarding the Chromebook laptop case.
