Attorney General Officially Hands Over IDR 6.6 Trillion to the Government

officially handed over IDR 6,625,294,190,469.74 or IDR 6.6 trillion to the government.
“On this auspicious day, as a form of accountability to the public, we also handed over Rp. 6,625,294,190,469.74 (Rp. 6.6 trillion),” said Burhanuddin in a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung), Jakarta, Wednesday (24/12).
Burhanuddin explained that the Rp. 6.6 trillion was the result of collection of forestry administrative fines by the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) worth Rp. 2,344,965,750,000 (Rp. 2.3 trillion).

“Those came from 20 palm oil companies, 1 nickel mining company,” he said.
Then, said Burhanuddin, the proceeds from saving state finances from the handling of corruption cases by the Attorney General amounted to Rp. 4,280,328,440,469.74 (Rp. 4.2 trillion).
“This stems from criminal cases involving alleged corruption in the provision of CPO facilities and sugar import cases,” he said.
Apart from that, Burhanuddin said that the PKH Task Force had also succeeded in regaining control of 4,081,560.58 hectares of forest area.
According to him, a total of 896,969.143 hectares of land will be handed back.
Consists of oil palm plantation land covering an area of 240,575,383 hectares from 124 legal subjects spread across 6 provinces.
“It was handed over to the relevant ministries, from the PKH Task Force to the Ministry of Finance, then to Danantara, then handed over to Agrinas,” he said.
“Conservation forest area land was handed over to the Ministry of Forestry to restore 688,427 hectares of forest spread across 9 provinces,” Burhanuddin added.
Previously, the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH Task Force) imposed fines on companies that planted oil palm or opened mines illegally in state forest areas.
Chair of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Expert Team, Barita Simanjuntak, said that there were 49 palm oil companies whose total fines were estimated at IDR 9.4 trillion.Dozens of these companies have also been charged fines.
Of the 33 companies present, there were 15 companies that had paid a total of IDR 1.7 trillion, five companies were ready to pay, and 13 companies had submitted objections.
Apart from that, said Barita, there were also three companies that had not yet attended billing and 13 companies that were waiting for the billing schedule.
There are palm oil companies that have stated their ability to pay a total fine of IDR 83,386,250,000.00.
Thus, if recapitulated, the total amount of fines from palm oil companies that will be received by the state is IDR 1,844,965,750,000.00.
Furthermore, for mining, Barita said that there were 22 mining companies that were collecting fines.Of the dozens of companies, 13 companies were present, while nine companies were included in the billing schedule.
Of the 13 companies present, one corporation has paid IDR 500 billion out of a total of IDR 2.094 trillion.Then, there were three companies that received fines and were ready to pay a total of IDR 1,643,731,412,940.00, while one company still submitted an objection.
If recapitulated, a total of IDR 3,738,431,987,940.00 will be received by the state from collecting fines from mining companies.
