, Mikel Arteta admitted that his team appeared disappointing in the first half during their 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in Week 16 of the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, London, Sunday (14/12) early morning WIB.
Arteta explained that Declan Rice did not perform as he should in the first half and fortunately Arsenal were able to recover in the second half.
Even though he performed better in the second half, Arteta highlighted the defense which conceded a goal from Wolves’ Tolu Arokodare before the Gunners finally won the match.

“We are relieved because we managed to score a goal at the end of the match and win it, but we need to improve our performance in that regard,” said Arteta.
In this match, Arsenal managed to win with a score of 2-1 thanks to two own goals by Wolves players, Sam Johnstone and Yerson Mosquera.
This victory means Arsenal is still firmly in first place in the Premier League standings with 36 points from 16 matches, five points ahead of Manchester City in second place, who have only played 15 matches.
Arteta hopes that this difficult victory can be a lesson for Arsenal to be able to appear more effective and take advantage of the opportunities they get.
“Learn from these mistakes, then move on, and every time you win in the Premier League, you have to be happy. You have to be aware of the difficulties, but we made it even more difficult for ourselves today and that’s the big lesson we have to take,” said Arteta.
