as general treasurer.The man who is familiarly called Gus Gudfan is now filling the position of chairman of PBNU.
Gus Gudfan’s removal was based on the decision of the Tanfidziyah Daily Meeting chaired by PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf at the PBNU office, Kramat Raya, Jakarta, Friday (28/11).
“H Gudfan Arif from his original position as general treasurer to the position as Chairman of PBNU,” said the decision of the Tanfidziyah meeting, as written in the PBNU press release.

Gudfan’s position was filled by Sumantri from his original position as treasurer to general treasurer.
Apart from that, PBNU also removed Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul from the position of PBNU secretary general.Gus Ipul was rotated to become Chairman of PBNU.
Gus Ipul’s position was filled by Amin Said Husni from his original position as deputy general chairman to the position of secretary.
The Tanfidziyah meeting also decided to rotate KH Masyhuri Malik from his original position as chairman of PBNU to the position as deputy general chairman.

Management rotation is taken based on the results of performance evaluations in the Tanfidziyah Daily Executive Board functionaries, as well as taking into account the provisions in the Nahdlatul Ulama Bylaws Article 94 and Association Regulation Number 10 of 2025 Article 16-18, as well as the provisions in Association Regulation Number 13 of 2025 Article 1 letter d and Article 10.
“In accordance with applicable regulations, the General Chair will immediately report the decision of the Tanfidziyah Daily Meeting to Rais Aam of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board,” said a PBNU press statement.
There has been no statement from Gus Ipul regarding the results of the tanfidziyah meeting which fired him from the position of PBNU Secretary General.
