Amran said that the central government is paying special attention to Sabang and Batam as Indonesia’s leading regions.According to him, various supports were decided to strengthen the food production chain and superior commodities in the two regions.
For Sabang, Amran offered assistance in developing upland rice, coconut, cocoa, as well as machinery and pumps. He also directly coordinated with the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono to fulfill requests regarding the formation of fishing villages.
“Well, this is what’s interesting, there was a request for cocoa, then coconut, upland rice, pumps, fishing villages. We immediately called the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, my extraordinary friend, he immediately fulfilled the request. So this is a blessed Wednesday, all requests were fulfilled. This is for the sake of the people of Aceh, for the sake of the people of Sabang,” explained Amran.
For Batam, the focus of support is directed at horticulture and corn.Amran encouraged the region to become a horticultural supplier to Singapore as part of strengthening competitiveness in border areas.
“Then we support horticulture for Batam, then supply it to Singapore. This is the right thing, these methods are what the President (Prabowo Subianto) wants, the methods the center wants,” he explained.
He is also preparing to strengthen the Sabang cocoa industry to support exports, including providing superior seeds and assigning relevant agencies to follow up.
“So this is what we are encouraging industry, we are preparing superior seeds, then the Department Head will follow up. Whatever you ask for, God willing, we will fulfill it for Sabang,” he said.
Amran also touched on the export experience of other regions as a comparison.
“We have done this before in West Kalimantan, exporting corn and coconut to neighboring countries. We must know that Indonesia is the largest coconut producer, number one in the world,” he stressed.
On that occasion, the Mayor of Sabang, Zulkifli H Adam, expressed his appreciation for the central government’s support at the meeting.
“We are from Aceh, from Sabang, of course it is an extraordinary honor to be received by the Minister on this happy morning. Of course, as regional heads, we must obey what the Minister said. So, thank God, we can provide the assistance from the Minister to the community,” he said.
Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad also expressed similar appreciation. He believes that solid central-regional communication can strengthen food stability and development.
“All our spirits are how to contribute to this country that we love. Red and white, that’s the key word that we captured this morning. If communication between the regions and the center can be built like this, God willing, this Republic will be very strong in the future,” he concluded.
Before the meeting took place, Amran announced the discovery of 250 tons of illegal rice entering Sabang, Aceh, Sunday (23/11).
“We received a report at around 2 o’clock that there was 250 tons of rice entering Sabang without permission from the center, without central approval,” said Amran at his residence in South Jakarta.
The warehouse belonging to PT Multazam Sabang Group was then sealed.Amran said the team was still working to trace the parties responsible.
“Today we are saying that we are sealing it and we are asking to find out who the perpetrators are,” he said.

After the Sabang case, another new report was received via the “Report Pak Amran” channel regarding the entry of 40.4 tons of illegal rice in Batam. The discovery occurred on Monday (25/11) evening when a ship docked at around 23.00 WIB.
“Last night there was a report from Batam via ‘Report Pak Amran’ saying that there was rice that was docked, while the journey was docked. The landing was at 11 pm,” said Amran.
He said the action was carried out quickly thanks to coordination between the Riau Islands Military Commander, the Riau Islands Regional Police Chief, the Mayor, the Governor and the local Dandim.
Apart from illegal rice, illegal cooking oil was also found.Amran highlighted the oddity because Indonesia is the world’s largest palm oil producer.
