“Hopefully everything is under control and all residents are safe. Please coordinate with each other. Avoid recording at an unsafe distance,” said Khofifah, Wednesday (19/11) evening.

Not only that, Khofifah also uploaded an amateur video of residents recorded on the Gladak Perak Bridge when hot clouds of avalanche hit the link between Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency.
Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java, experienced an eruption on Wednesday (19/11) at 14.13 WIB.The status increased from Alert Level II to Alert Level III, at 16.00 WIB.And finally increased back to Level IV or Caution.
“At 17.00 WIB, Mount Semeru’s Activity Level increased from Level III or Alert to Level IV Warning,” said Head of the East Java BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Satriyo Nurseno,.
“Hot cloud avalanches are still ongoing, with a maximum amplitude of 34 mm. Hot cloud avalanches with a sliding distance of 14 km from the top of the mountain. The avalanche tends to head north. Recorded on a seismograph, the hot cloud vibrations are accompanied by flood vibrations,” he said.
Currently, said Satriyo, residents around the Semeru lava flow have been asked to stay away from the danger zone.They took refuge at the Oro Oro Ombo Village Hall and Oro Oro Ombo 03 Elementary School, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang.
“At Supiturang Elementary School the number of refugees is approximately 100 people. Meanwhile at Oro Oro Ombo Village Hall, Penanggal Village Hall the number is being collected,” he said.
