“Thank God, now Aceh’s electricity system has recovered,” said Darmawan in a written statement, Sunday (21/12), as reported by

According to him, this is an important foundation so that electricity supply to the community can run stably. He explained that the recovery of Aceh’s electricity system was supported by comprehensive normalization on the generation and transmission side.
“An important recovery milestone is the re-operation of the Nagan Raya Steam Power Plant (PLTU), which ensures that the electricity supply to all GI areas in Aceh can be distributed optimally,” he said.
Now PLN continues to focus efforts to accelerate the restoration of the electricity distribution network to the community, especially in areas with geographical challenges and limited access.
“In accordance with government directions, we continue to accelerate post-disaster electricity recovery until the electricity network returns to the community,” he said.
PLN continues to strive to normalize Aceh’s electricity with the support and collaboration of various parties.
Previously, PLN had operated the Nagan Raya PLTU which was supported by adequate system reserves to meet the electricity needs of the people of Aceh.
The operation of this plant also optimizes the Nagan-Sigli transmission line as part of Aceh’s electricity system.
PLN has also succeeded in restoring the Arun-Bireuen and Pangkalan Brandan-Langsa transmission networks, which are the backbone of the Sumatra-Aceh interconnection and were interrupted due to floods and landslides.
Darmawan emphasized that each stage of recovery was carried out by prioritizing aspects of community safety.
“We ensure that the distribution normalization process is carried out gradually and safely, especially in areas where there are still standing water or mud, so that people can enjoy electricity comfortably again,” he said.
PLN is committed to continuing to work together with the people of Aceh to improve electricity services and monitor system reliability on an ongoing basis until all customers return to enjoying a normal electricity supply.
“For customers who have not yet turned it on, we continue to coordinate and ensure that the customer’s installation is in a safe condition before the electricity supply is distributed again,” said Darmawan.
