, Alissa Wahid, touched on the internal conflict currently affecting the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (
PBNU
) later.
He conveyed this in his remarks at his late father’s 16th anniversary in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, Saturday (20/12) evening.

“Hopefully the NU leaders will wake up again to the noble legacy they carry,” said Alissa.
Alissa also touched on the issue of granting mining concessions from the government to mass organizations which was said to be a node of internal conflict for PBNU.
“And now we see that mining concessions have become a major conflict point for the NU leadership. In fact, Gus Dur emphasized that the NU yai and nyai do not think about their own situation but always think about the state of the nation,” he said.
He said that Gus Dur’s teachings always reminded him that NU must take a position as the guardian of the pendulum of the balance of power.
Alissa said Gus Dur always taught Nahdliyin residents to always give everything for the benefit of the nation.
“Even when Gus Dur was president, there was no policy that gave privileges to NU. Far from wooing him by giving mining concessions, Gus Dur actually reminded NU residents that NU must continue to be critical of the authorities,” he said.
Alissa’s statement came following the PBNU which was recently hit by internal conflict.It all started after Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar recommended Gus Yahya resign from the position of general chairman.
This decision was the result of the PBNU’s daily Syuriyah meeting at the Aston Hotel, Jakarta, on November 20.At the meeting, 37 members of the 53 Syuriyah PBNU daily administrators were present.
Most recently, Syuriyah PBNU held a plenary meeting at the Sultan Hotel in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/12) evening.The meeting was chaired by Rais Syuriyah PBNU Muhammad Nuh on the mandate of Rais Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar.
The plenary decided Zulfa Mustofa as Acting General Chair of PBNU for the remaining term of office until the 2026 Congress.
“The appointment of the Acting General Chairperson of PBNU for the remaining term of service, namely Mr. KH Zulfa Mustofa,” said Rais Syuriah Muhammad Nuh in a press conference after the plenary meeting at the Sultan Hotel.
The plenary was also attended by a number of kiai such as Deputy Rais Aam KH Afifuddin Muhajir and KH Anwar Iskandar, Nasaruddin Umar, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Gus Ipul.
However, until now Gus Yahya claims to still serve as Chairman of PBNU.He rejected the decision of the Syuriyah plenary meeting which appointed Zulfa Mustofa as Acting Chairman of PBNU.
