Israel
.
Israel is indeed one of the members of the gang of developed countries, and even plays a role in determining whether or not Indonesia will be accepted into this group. On the other hand, Israel is known as a country that continues to invade Palestine.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that Indonesia’s position remains perpendicular to President Prabowo Subianto’s directions.

“Membership is certainly required
unanimous
, decisions from other members,” said Airlangga at the Press Conference on the Development of the OECD Accession Process at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Central Jakarta, Thursday (11/12).
Unanimous vote
meaning a unanimous decision from all OECD members. In other words, Indonesia must get blessing or approval from Israel to join the OECD.
Meanwhile, the current total membership of the OECD is 38 countries. The composition is that 33 countries (87 percent) have the status of developed countries and 5 other countries (13 percent) represent the developing country group.
However, Airlangga denied that the Indonesian government was normalizing relations with Israel just to join the OECD.Indonesia firmly asks Israel to immediately end the conflict with Palestine.
“The President (Prabowo) was clear in his speech at the UN and I think it has become clear that if Israel resolves the political issue with Palestine, then that is the process regarding Indonesia. So, there is no other statement, except for the President’s statement in the UN speech,” he said.
On the other hand, Airlangga explained that the OECD Secretariat was visiting Indonesia to convey direct support in accelerating Indonesia’s accession. He detailed 3 areas that started the technical review stage, namely environment, trade and digital economy.
The coordinating minister said these areas were prioritized for review because they were complex.Apart from that, Airlangga emphasized the importance of these three areas in forming national resilience.
President Prabowo Subianto previously stated that Indonesia would recognize Israel and support security guarantees for the country, if Palestine became independent. This statement was delivered at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Session in New York, United States, Tuesday (23/9).
“We must guarantee Palestinian statehood, but Indonesia also stated that once Israel recognizes the independence of the Palestinian state, Indonesia will immediately recognize the state of Israel and we will support all Israeli security guarantees,” Prabowo said at the time.
