by facing the Philippines who brought ‘old’ players.
The Philippines used the services of two 2021 SEA Games alumni at this year’s Southeast Asian Games.Coach Michael Martinez Alvarez recalled midfielder Sandro Reyes and center back Jaime Rosquillo.
Both players have experience playing in the SEA Games four years ago in Vietnam.Rosquillo even felt like he was being rolled by the Indonesian National Team at the 2021 SEA Games.

Four years ago Indonesia won 4-0 over the Philippines in a group phase match. When Rosquillo appeared as a doorstop, Reyes at that time only sat on the bench.
It is possible that this time Reyes will appear from the first minute to defend the Philippines, because Reyes is now one of the senior players.
Even though they have appeared at the 2021 SEA Games, Reyes and Rosquillo are still within the age limit of 22 years as per the SEA Games rules for the sport of soccer.Reyes was recorded as born on March 29, 2003, while Rosquillo was born on March 10, 2003.
Meanwhile, the U-23 Indonesian National Team currently no longer has players competing in the 2021 SEA Games. Indra Sjafri only called two 2023 SEA Games alumni players, namely Ananda Raehan and Muhammad Ferrari.
Apart from including Reyes and Rosquillo, the Filipino side also registered five players who competed in the SEA Games two years ago, they are Noah Leddel, Santiago Rublico, Gavin Muens, John Lucero and Andres Aldeguer.
If Rosquillo experienced defeat against Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games, then Leddel, Rublico, Muens and Aldeguer also experienced the same thing at the 2023 SEA Games when the Red and White team won 3-0.
