Scoring 14 goals in two matches was a significant improvement for Javier Jorda Ribera’s team compared to the previous two weeks.
In the second week of November, Malaysia U-16 held a trial with Croatia in preparation for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification. As a result, Malaysia U-16 was crushed 0-11 by Croatia.
This result became a topic of conversation at the national level for Malaysian football.Some considered this crushing defeat to be proof that Malaysia’s football development had failed.
With two wins over the Northern Mariana Islands and Hong Kong, Malaysia U-16 is now competing with host Vietnam for a ticket to the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup finals which will be held in Saudi Arabia on 7-24 May 2026.
The victories over the Northern Mariana Islands and Hong Kong gave Harimau Muda confidence to achieve their third victory when they clashed with Macau, Wednesday (26/11).
“Our next opponent is Macau, a team with high defensive discipline. They have a combination of well-organized and dangerous counter attacks. They drew 1-1 against Singapore and also showed a good game against Hong Kong,” said Ribera as quoted by
