Diawara still thinks that Indonesia is a strong and good team, even though Mali is optimistic that they will win another match later.
“We know that we are facing a good team who lost the first match and want to win the second match. So, we have to focus and try seriously to play a good match,” said Diawara on Monday (17/11).
Diawara also assessed that the 3-0 victory over Indonesia in the first trial was not a guarantee that his team could win decisively and easily in the second match.
“No, in football nothing is easy. That’s the mentality in Mali football. Indonesia is a good team, we are sure of that. We will be serious for this match. You try to be a little more serious for this match,” said Diawara.
In the first test, Mali managed to take a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute through Sekou Doucoure’s header.
Mali managed to increase their lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute through Wilson Samake’s solo run.
